Your home visit, survey and fitting
Oxted, Limpsfield, Hurst Green and the villages around them
What happens from the first visit to the day the new windows go in, and what you can do to get ready.

Before the visit
Walk round the house and note which windows you want to replace, any that stick, leak or let in draughts, and anything you know about the house: whether it is listed, in a conservation area, a flat or leasehold.
The home visit
It takes about 30 minutes. The visitor looks at each window, talks through frames, colours, glass and handles, and checks access for fitting. You then get a written price. There is no charge and no obligation.

The survey
If you decide to go ahead, a surveyor measures every opening exactly and checks the sills, lintels and brick arches, and the support under any bay. The windows are then made to those measurements.
Fitting day
Most houses are done in a day or two. The old frames are taken away and the openings are made good inside and out. Where a tower is needed to reach upstairs, this may add around £150. Scaffold only goes up where a job truly needs it.
Afterwards
The installer registers the work with FENSA, so you receive a certificate showing it meets the Building Regulations. Keep it with the guarantee for when you sell.
